Join the Parent Advisory Committee for a free Family Resource Workshop featuring a representative from the Social Security Administration, Kylle McKinney, Thursday, July 9 at the Opelika Public Library.
This informative session is designed for families of children with special health care needs, caregivers, advocates, and community members who want to learn more about Social Security benefits and resources.
Topics will include:
- SSI (Supplemental Security Income) for children
- SSDI basics
- Eligibility requirements
- The application process
- Representative Payee information
- Creating and managing a My Social Security account
- Available resources and support services
