Tinglewood Festival
Tinglewood Festival is Alabama’s premier all-woodworking event, featuring chainsaw carving, whittling, demonstrations, and art vendors. Festival-goers will find everything from knives, wooden bowls, vases, jewelry, and toys, to handcrafted furniture, bird houses, ornaments, and more! The chainsaw carving exhibition will include a panel of well-known artists. Artwork created during the festival will be available for purchase.
In addition to woodworking, the festival features a classic car show, tractor show, live music, and tons of children’s activities. Food and refreshment vendors will be on site for the family event, which will take place rain or shine.
Live music runs all day during the festival with a variety of styles, including jazz, country, classic rock, 90’s rock, hip hop, bluegrass, and singer-songwriter. Musical acts include the Montevallo Jazz Band, A Fraction of Twelve, The Old Mixed Tapes, and Elizabeth McCool.
Children’s activities will include the “Balloon Guy,” Reptiles & Amphibians of AL by Jim, inflatables courtesy of JAC’s Rentals, a petting zoo courtesy of Cahaba Critters, games with the Boys & Girls Club, Mr. Larry’s Magic Show, Alabama Wildlife Birds of Prey Show, Make and Take Art by Living River, and more.
Montevallo is often recognized for the carvings of Tim Tingle in Orr Park. Each year thousands of visitors come to the park to enjoy more than 50 carvings that line the walking path along scenic Shoal Creek.
