The 2023 Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration
The 2023 Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration hosted by the Tuscaloosa Branch of the NAACP will be on June 16, 17, and 19. Free events will feature a local civil rights bus tour, an African-American genealogy workshop, a parade, and a community day in the park.

Saturday, June 17 | Juneteenth Parade
Parade Starts at 10:00 a.m.
Parade Route is from Westlawn Middle School to the McDonald Hughes Community Center, traveling down Martin Luther King Blvd.
To kick off the day in definite pomp and slender, the NAACP will host a parade and participation is open to all groups and organizations that function within the County of Tuscaloosa or surrounding counties. The beginning route of parade will begin at Westlawn Middle School, and end at the McDonald Hughes Community Center.
Saturday, June 17 | Family Cookout in the Park
Noon to 6:00 p.m.

This community cookout will be festive and fun. Entertainment will be provided free of charge to the community. Attendees are encouraged to bring their tents, chairs, and grills. Vendors are welcome, free of charge.

This event will serve as one of the Tuscaloosa NAACP’s three major annual fundraisers. The guest of honor will be a member of the Tuscaloosa community that has made a major contribution to enhancing the lives of African Americans in Tuscaloosa and abroad. Individual tickets are $25.00.
