Weekend of celebrations to kick off the holiday season in Alabaster

Mark your calendars for the weekend of Dec. 4-7, as the city has multiple events planned to kick off the Christmas season!

Water Tower Lighting Ceremony

The historic water tower lighting ceremony will be from 6-8 p.m. at City Hall on Friday, Dec. 6, featuring live music, photos with Santa, a train ride, vendors, food trucks and more. The city’s beautiful Festival of Trees will officially begin next to City Hall the same night.

Alabaster “Old Fashioned” Christmas Parade

The Alabaster Christmas parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. along Highway 31. New toys will be accepted during the Parade to help children who might not otherwise receive gifts this Christmas. To best view the parade entrees, find a viewing spot south of the Milo’s Hamburgers building across from the Tower.

  1. The Parade begins at Long Lewis Ford.
  2. Proceeds South to the Old Alabaster Police Station where the judges platform is located.
  3. Turns and goes over the train tracks, past Alabaster Auto, past the Thrift Store shopping center.
  4. It ends at the stop sign in front of Southbrook Village on 1st Street Southwest.
Candy will be thrown along the Parade route. Please do not enter Highway 31 to retrieve candy as that creates a dangerous situation!
