2026 April Walking Tours in Alabama
The Alabama Tourism Department’s annual April Walking Tours will occur on Saturday mornings in April and will take place at 31 locations across the state.
Community leaders and local volunteers will guide the free tours through historic districts and neighborhoods that showcase each city’s art, architecture and culture. Tours will begin at 10 a.m. on April 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2026, unless otherwise noted.

Attalla –Museum of Attalla, 313 5th Ave NW (Tours on April 25 ONLY)
Bayou LaBatre – Mariner Park, 13765 South Wintzell Avenue (No Tour April 25)
Birmingham –Fred Shuttlesworth statue at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, 520 16th St. N (Tour on April 18 ONLY)
Bridgeport – Bridgeport Depot Museum, 116 Soulard Square

Leeds –Downtown Leeds (Tour April 11 ONLY, rain date April 25) The tour will include stops at various locations throughout the city, where participants will learn about the history of Leeds in the 1950s.
