Coon Dog Cemetery Labor Day Celebration
Experience the unique charm of the Coon Dog Labor Day Celebration, hosted at Coon Dog Cemetery nestled within the historic Freedom Hills area—a former renowned hunting camp. More than 300 beloved coon dogs find their eternal rest in this one-of-a-kind location.
Recognized as an STS* Top 20 event, this celebration promises a blend of tradition and entertainment, featuring “old-time” bluegrass music, buck dancing, local barbecue, a liar’s contest, and and the rich heritage of coon dog camaraderie. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs!
You can find the Coon Dog Cemetery seven miles west of Tuscumbia on U.S. Hwy 72. Turn left on Alabama Hwy 247, and travel approximately 12 miles. Then turn right on Coon Dog Cemetery Road and follow the signs.
