A free screening and discussion of the new documentary, RESILIENCE, will be hosted by the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention, and Child Development Resources on April 16.
RESILIENCE explores a recently discovered a dangerous biological syndrome caused by abuse and neglect during childhood. Toxic stress can trigger hormones that wreak havoc on the brains and bodies of children, putting them at greater risk for disease homelessness, prison time and early death.
The documentary also chronicles a movement to fight back using field-tested therapies to help protect children from the effects of toxic stress.
